At these discounted room rates, it seems like it would make sense to buy an annual pass even if you are only planning one trip to Disney. We are planning to stay 4 nights at the Polynesian, and these rates are approximately $200 off the listed price. Multiply that by 4, and it easily covers the cost of the annual pass. Am I missing something?

Marianne – Just remember to figure in the cost of the annual pass. If you aren’t going during the free dining time, you can book the AP discount now, though it is likely we will see a similar room only discount for everyone soon, you can always switch over. Just don’t buy your AP now, they are non-refundable.

One more thing – I just called Disney to talk to them about this, and they claim not to have any annual passholder room discounts beyond October 1.

Marianne – Call back or call a Disney travel agent. Rates are released, you just got someone who didn’t know about them.

I have been calling since Sat. Already have res. for Poly from Oct 19-26. They keep telling me they can’t apply the discount. I also have a pin for that time, but they tell me if I use that I can’t get dining. They keep saying to wait. Does this make sense?

Nicole – The Polynesian is sold out for those dates. Even though you have a reservation, there still isn’t going to be any availability of discounted rooms. Even any new discounts won’t work for you. Your options are to look at different dates, look at a different resort or just pay the price you have and hope that something opens up down the road (unlikely).

I was also thinking it would be worth it to buy an annual pass to get this discount. But i do remember last year it seems it was made available to the public also. When should I expect this discount to be released to the public?

Marissa – If your math works out that it is a savings right now, go ahead and book the reservation, you don’t need an AP until check in. Don’t buy the AP until you know you will need it, they are non-refundable. If a general public deal is released, you can always switch over.

We are still expecting Fall discounts sometime soon.
