2014 Disney World Dining Plans

UPDATE – January 21, 2014 – Walt Disney World has finally released updated dining plan brochures for all dining plans, with all included restaurants now listed. The links below now download the newest brochures.

Walt Disney World released their 2014 packages and rates today, including an update to the Disney Dining plans for 2014, which include basically no changes from the 2013 and previous year dining plans. Please find below a quick overview of all the available dining plans for Walt Disney World along with a downloadable brochure for each with more in depth information.

Please note, as you look at the brochures, many of the restaurants that will be included for 2014 are not currently listed on the brochures. This happens every year, as the agreements and contracts for non-Disney restaurants are negotiated each year when it comes to inclusion in the dining plans. As 2014 approaches, more restaurants will be included, and the list should be similar to 2014. Updates with additional restaurants or changes will be posted here.

Quick Service Dining Plan

Initially introduced in 2009, this plan has not changed for 2014. The Quick Service dining plan is a fantastic option for park guests who don’t want to be tied to eating at a sit down restaurant each day.

The Quick Service Dining Plan includes, per person, per night of your stay:

  • Two quick service meals
  • One snack
  • One resort refillable resort mug per person per stay

The cost of the Quick Service dining plan is $39.64 per night per adult (10 and older), and $15.75 per child (3 – 9).

Disney Dining Plan

Again, not much has changed from the Disney Dining plan of 2013, except for a small increase in price. Walt Disney World also made a change in June, 2013 where the “peak” season pricing was removed, and it is still gone for 2014. The cost of the Disney Dining Plan is the same all year.

The Disney Dining Plan includes, per person, per night of your stay:

  • One table service meal
  • One quick service meal
  • One snack
  • One resort refillable resort mug per person per stay

Please note gratuities are not included on the table service meals. Table service meals can also be used for signature restaurants, dinner shows, private dining or pizza delivery (these typically run 2 table service meals per person). More information can be found in the brochure.

The cost of the Disney dining plan is $58.66 per night per adult (10 and older), and $18.88 per child (3 – 9).

Disney Deluxe Dining Plan

Again, nothing has changed from the Deluxe Dining Plan of 2013, with the exception of another small price increase.

The Disney Deluxe Dining Plan includes, per person, per night of your stay:

  • Three meals, which can be used for either quick service or table service meals
  • Two snacks
  • One resort refillable mug

The policy is the same for table service meals on the deluxe dining plan (gratuities not included, can be used for signature restaurants, etc.). If you use the meal credits towards table service meals, your meal will also include an appetizer for each person, in addition to the entree, dessert and drink.

The cost of the Disney Deluxe dining plan is $104.94 per night per adult (10 and older), and $29.51 per child (3 – 9).

Magic Your Way Premium Package

Again, very little has changed with the premium package, it now includes:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus two snacks, per person, per night. Available 100 Walt Disney World restaurants (includes tax but not gratuities, unless otherwise noted). More information is found in the brochure below
  • One resort refillable mug per person per stay
  • Unlimited selected recreation, including Golf, Miniature Golf, Water Sports, Archery, Tennis, Guided Fishing Excursions, Cane Pole Fishing, Horseback Trail Rides, Pony Rides, Carriage Rides, Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides, Bike Rental and Watercraft Rental. Some restrictions may apply and advance reservations may be required, and are suggested. More information is found in the brochure
  • One admission per person to Cirque du Soliel La Nouba
  • Unlimited use of Disney Children’s Activity Centers
  • Unlimited admission to selected theme park tours
  • One admission to the Richard Petty Junior Ride-Along Experience

The cost of the Premium package is $194 per night per adult (10 and older), and $135 per child (3 – 9). That is in addition to the standard cost of a Magic Your Way package. There is now a 3 night minimum stay required in order to book the premium package.

Magic Your Way Platinum Package

Similar to the premium package above, the Platinum package is the ultimate in luxury. The Magic Your Way Platinum package is only available at the Deluxe Disney resorts.

The Magic Your Way Platinum Package includes everything the premium package offers, plus:

  • One Disney’s Photopass CD
  • Private in-room child care (4 hour minimum, 6 hour maximum, gratuity is not included)
  • One selected spa treatment per person
  • Fireworks cruise (one per reservation, everyone on your reservation is included)
  • Nightly turn-down service
  • Personalized pre-arrival itinerary planning

The cost of the Platinum package is $254 per night per adult (10 and older), and $175 per child (3 – 9). That is in addition to the standard cost of a Magic Your Way package. There is now a 3 night minimum stay required in order to book the platinum package.

Brochure: Magic Your Way Platinum Package

For all of the packages above, there are a few things to remember:

  • Everyone in your room must be on the same dining plan/package
  • Dining plan credits expire at midnight the day you check out
  • Dining plan credits are based on the number of nights you stay
  • You must purchase the dining plan for your entire stay
  • Dining plan credits and park passes are not transferable

I like the meal plan but the 1 quick service and 1 table service is not enough and but three table is too much. It would be helpful if there was one of the following either 2 quick and 1 table or 2 table and 1 quick. My preference would be 2 table and one quick.

Carol Ann – Agreed. However, the Deluxe Dining plan credits can be used for either counter service or table service, up to you. Most people use it the way you are saying, two table service and one counter service, using all three for table service is a TON of food.

Personally, I use the Disney dining plan for my family, it seems to work the best. I just pay out of pocket for any additional meals, and I have found I come out ahead that way rather than paying for the deluxe and trying to use all the food.

I just came back from our trip a week ago. It was the first time and having used the dinning plan was very unhappy. My son, who just made ten was considered an adult and had to pay more. He is 65 pounds soak and wet and I only ordered kids meals. He ate the same amount of food as his younger siblings. The restaurant did offer larger portions but it was too much food. For the second part of the stay, we were not on a plan and when dining I just ordered kids things and it was cheaper. Has anyone had a similar situation? I realize the benefit but most restaurants consider kids up to 11 or 12.

What am missing and would there be anyway to make it work next time.

The dining plans definitely do not work for everyone. You really have to sit down and do the math before hand to see if they work for your family or not. I do know how you feel though, I have a son that insisted on ordering off the kids menu until he was 16. Then again, I have a daughter that ate enough to order an adult meal each time since she was about 6.

For Disney, they consider everyone 10+ an adult for both park passes and all restaurants. While in many cases, I think that is too young (especially when it comes to adult vs kids meals), it is what it is, and it has been that way as long as I can remember. Next trip, maybe things will be different for you.

Thanks for the response and your right. It is what it is. I will plan more wisely and go in with a plan. The quick service plan may just be better for us.
        Happy travels!!

Has Disney started taking reservations for summer 2014 yet?

Yes you can. I made reservations as a DVC member and the dinning plan is available too.

LaTerese – Yes, you can make reservations for all of 2014 at this point

Have the dates of free meal plans, with package, been released? I’m planning a trip in December and that certainly helps with cost.

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Tonya – We have not seen free dining released for any dates in 2014. We are not expecting anything to be announced until early April for September travel dates.

Keith…In your opinion, would you book your hotel “Of choice” with maybe a discount and buy the meal plan? We usually get the free meal plan, but on our last 2 trips, we did not get our choice hotel and were VERY disappointed with where Disney had us stay. Now we don’t know how to remedy this…any hints ???

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Suzanne – Well, I am not sure we will see free dining at all for 2014, so this may be a mute point. I usually suggest to look at the all the discounts available, while free dining may not be available at “your” resort, there may be other discounts available there that may bring the price down to close to what free dining would.

It just depends on what your pain level is, if you can stand not getting the best price, then book where you want and don’t worry about it. If money is super tight, then you may need to suffer through staying somewhere else.

Consider getting a decent Disney travel agent, they will be able to make sure you get the best deal, but still stay somewhere close to what you want.

Who would you consider a decent Disney travel agent…we have been calling Disney direct…but not sure of that now. Looking into Mouseketrips…

Suzanne – We love Mouseketrips, they have been around forever and do a great job, plus they are our sponsors!

Thanks Keith…I will send our info to them and see what they come up with. We received a price through Walt Disney World (hotel of choice) buying the meal plan, park hopper, etc. I sent the same info to Mouseketrips. Hope all goes well.

Hi! Does anyone know anything about the free meal plan dates for 2014? My family and I are planning a late August trip & our friends who went last year at the same time had it. Thanks!

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Heather – Disney has not released any free dining for 2014, for any dates. We have seen it every September since dining plans have been out (7 or 8 years, I can’t remember), but nothing yet this year and we are well past the time when they historically release it. We are expecting another WDW discount to be released soon, probably in the next week or so, but no idea what it will be or what dates it will cover. Check back later to see what Disney decides to do.

Can anyone tell me if the discount of free dining can be on. Premium or. Platinum dinning package?

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Kris – In past years when Disney released free dining, you were only able to do the Quick Service, Disney Dining or Deluxe dining plans, you were not able to do either the Premium or Platinum plans. If we see it again in 2014, I would expect it to be the same.

Hello Keith. I was wondering if you have heard anything about the free dining for visa card holders will be released tomorrow? We are hearing rumors and was wondering if you have heard anything.

Tawnie – Sorry, we don’t report or comment on rumors, things change so quickly. We will report any new discounts once released and available.

If you stay off site (in Orlando, not a Disney resort) can you get a dining plan, or is it only for those staying in an on grounds resort?

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

KC – The Disney Dining plans are only available if you stay in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel with an appropriate package (room and tickets).

We are going to Disney World this fall and will be using the Quick service meal plan. I have an 8 yr old son that is an adventurous eater by disney standards, (meaning he likes more than nuggets, and pbj.) In the past you could use the meal credits as an adult an order for a child. With the new magic bands is this possible or are the credits seperated out between child and adults?

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Matthew – They are separated, so when you order, it will show that you have 2 adult and 1 child credits. They will allow an adult to order a child’s meal, but not the other way around.

  12. Melissa Avatar

We have planned our first trip to Disney in December. We are doing the dining plan. I understand how the table service works but what about the quick service. How much food or how many items can you get? How does it work for kids? Are there only certain things kids can get at the quick service stops. I am envisioning it to be like a cafeteria where you walk about and pick a few things you want to eat, but maybe my vision is wrong? So can adult get like a sandwich, some sides, beverage, dessert? Is there a dollar limit or an item limit? Thanks for the help.

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Melissa – None of the quick service places are buffets, they are all similar to any fast food restaurant you might visit. They will have a menu with entrees, drinks, desserts, etc. Adults choose an entree, a drink and a dessert from the options. Kids (3 – 9) will need to order off of the kids menu.

So, for example, if you look at the menu for the ABC Commissary in Hollywood Studios:

      https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/hollywood-studios/abc-commissary/menus/

You will notice a list of all the entrees available, the dessert, kids meals, etc.

The best way to figure it out is to just order at your first counter service restaurant, and ask questions about what is included and what is not. The cast members deal with the dining plan all day every day, they are always happy to answer questions.

Thank you so much for the quick response. The linked menu is super helpful. Another question is if there are two adults and one kid, say one adult is not very hungry or the three of us think the two meals is enough for all of us, can we just order one adult and one kids meal and hold the other one for another time? Could we do this for sit down meals as well. I am a very light eater and often we order just two meals for the three of us when we dine out. If we are doing sit down will they just deduct three credits for three people or if we clearly order one adult entree and one kid meal will they just deduct for those?

        1. Keith Avatar
          Keith

Melissa – Yes, you can do what you would like. Make sure you tell the cast member that is taking your order what you plan on doing so they know what you are ordering and that they charge you the right amount. Sit down is a little harder, but yes, you can do it. Just tell the waiter.

My little boy is 2 And I was wanting to know if he would get his own seat at the table service meal or would someone have to hold him where he is not charged for a meal due to his age.

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Crystal – Yes, or course. The dining plan is just a way to pay for your meals, and kids under three cannot purchase a dining plan at all. They will have their own seat, and you can order a meal for them if you like, but it won’t be covered under the plan. If you are at a meal that is a buffet, then your 2 year old will not only get a seat but will get to go to town on the buffet, free of charge.
